Super Mario

Mario Balotelli recently launched a challenge asking his BLACK colleagues to put money together for the development of African youth and to establish them within the continent. '“I challenge African players to put money together with me to leave racist Europe and build stadiums in Africa and develop our youth. We have the money, we can build at least 5 world-class stadiums in each country and sign the petition that no player will be exported to Europe anymore , “ he said.

He believes that as a collective, we can build world class stadiums and develop world class trainers on the continent. Black kids will be able to play “under the love of our brothers and sisters without anyone singing racist songs in the stands”. We can all agree that we will definitely be treated with respect if we have something to stand on.

I believe Mario should be celebrated for how he has stood against racism from day one. He has continued to fight for us (Black People) even though we didn’t support him, we allowed the media to paint a negative picture of him throughout the years. We (Black People) even called him selfish because he wouldn’t just ‘SHUT UP AND SCORE’ for our favorite European soccer league teams. He refused to be called the N word, monkey and many other derogatory words by the same people he was playing for and entertaining. We let the world suppress this young King’s talent just like they did Colin Kaepernick.

As a race, we owe Mario Balotelli an apology for not supporting him and leaving him out to dry. This man is a legend and MUST be celebrated/recognized as such. On behalf of all of us (From this little platform) to you SUPER MARIO, we apologize for our ignorance and we celebrate you brother.

I hope we all follow the path of Mario, Akon and numerous others………. COME HOME.
